At the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primaries in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency, actor-turned-politician Fred Nuamah expressed confidence that he would win.

The two, who had been viewed by many as being closest friends during the previous weeks, had been in the news ever since Mr. Nuamah announced his intention to run for government.

He was accused of adopting Mr. Dumelo's viewpoint while being urged to quit.

But, Mr. Nuamah has stated that he will in no way withdraw from the competition despite being willing to help his friend Mr. Dumelo.

Despite their recent split, he reiterated that he wouldn't let politics ruin his friendship with coworker John Dumelo.

He claims that he is far ahead of his main rival, John Dumelo, who ran as the NDC's candidate in the 2020 election.

Mr. Nuamah stated that he had already won the election by a landslide in an interview on UTV's United Showbiz.

I have already prevailed and am far ahead. According to the most recent survey my office performed, I had a 20% advantage over him and he had roughly 80%, he said.

Mr. Nuamah stated that he views John Dumelo like a brother and that it would be unfortunate if their long-standing friendship were to break due to politics.

John Dumelo is my brother, not a friend, therefore I won't allow politics to get in the way of our relationship. Politics won't break up our fraternity, in my opinion. Aside from the fact that he is my brother and NDC is a single party, our problem is a domestic one," he said.

Mr. Nuamah added, "For all you know, we have fixed our concerns," to his statement that people are not privy to what occurs behind closed doors.
