Former President John Mahama, according to a marketing and political communication instructor at the University of Ghana Business School, is more marketable than Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

According to Professor Kobby Mensah, the Akufo-Addo administration has elevated Mr. Mahama to saint status as a result of the nation's poor socioeconomic situation.

According to the lecturer, the majority of Ghanaians blame Dr. Bawumia for the country's economic problems, which would have an impact on his candidacy.

He was heralded as the coming economic saviour, thus "we expected him to leave up to expectation but he has failed."

Prof. Mensah claimed that when compared to events that occurred under the previous Mahama government, Dr. Bawumia's failure is still fresh in Ghanaians' memories.

Therefore, should he be chosen as the New Patriotic Party's standard bearer, the Vice President will be highly challenging to market ahead of the 2024 general elections.
