The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has a new campaign slogan called "breaking the eight," which simply implies that the election in 2024 would break the customary eight-year norm allotted to each political party in Ghana.

The elephant family needs a leader to help them break the eight, and the party is now looking for such a person. The National Democratic Congress, the NDC's principal political adversary, has already chosen John Dramani Mahama as its leader.

The New Patriotic Party accepted nominations from candidates who were interested in running in the Party's next presidential primary.

Eleven candidates for the presidency selected nomination papers to compete in the primaries. Ten of them successfully filed nominations before the deadline. All 10 candidates that submitted paperwork to run in the primaries are listed here.
