With only a few months till the 2024 elections, Nana Kontuhene, Nana Akoto Owia, a chief in the Assin region, has proclaimed former president John Dramani Mahama as Ghana's next leader.

In Assin Domenase, where Mahama and his entourage were in office, he emphasized that Ghanaians were hoping to welcome Mahama back to the presidency, much as Christians were anticipating the coming of Jesus.

The event on June 25 is a part of the closing stages of the Assin North by-elections, which are scheduled for June 27.

All Christians have a saying that they are anticipating Christ's second coming today, on Sunday, and that is what I want to communicate to the incoming president. We in Ghana are also looking forward to HE John Dramani Mahama's homecoming.

Assin North is now anticipating the return of John Gyakye Quayson. According to God's design, some people are in charge of preparing the way for the return of Christ. Gyakye Quayson will open the door for the second arrival of John Dramani Mahama.

We will all cast our votes on Tuesday to elect John Mahama as our next president, who will take office in a few months. Thank you to everyone, he said in a video GhanaWeb has access to.

In recent weeks, there has been a lot of political activity around the by-election. Before the vote, on June 25, campaigns came to an end.
